Brooches taking a stand against growing xenophobia
ALLA is a platform for artistic activities questioning racisms and intolerance. The aim of ALLA is to pave way for dialogue about difficult and highly charged subjects with the help of jewellery. ALLA was initiated by art jewellers Rut-Malin Barklund and Hanna Hedman.
The brooches created by participating artist served as statements, worn on the body. The artworks were taken on a national tour by train, traveling from Kiruna in the North to Malmö in the South, and was exhibited at Röhsska Muséet and Gustavsbergs Konsthall, combining artworks, video documentation, and portraits of persons who interacted with the brooches during on the national tour.
